I’m Victor Ogarro, also known as Voot, and I want to share how God has guided my life in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Years ago, I was managing at Don Lire factory when I received an opportunity to coach basketball in the Cayman Islands. Though it seemed risky, the Holy Spirit nudged me, and I decided to follow that calling.
Listen to the Testimony
When I arrived, I faced challenges and uncertainty. The population was just 28,000, and neighboring Jamaica was a powerhouse in basketball. My role was simple: give them a fight. But by following God’s guidance, my team didn’t just compete—we won a historic three-game series. I was humbled to see that success wasn’t about my skill; it was God working through me. I was later offered the role of Technical Director for basketball, a responsibility I initially felt unworthy of, but again, God’s Word led me every step.
This experience taught me a powerful lesson: in life, we must have a word to hold on to. Jesus showed us this in Matthew 4 when He resisted temptation by saying, “It is written.” He didn’t argue or rationalize—He simply relied on God’s Word.
Like Jesus, we can face trials, doubts, and fear by standing on Scripture. God’s Word doesn’t change with feelings, culture, or circumstances. It is alive, powerful, and unchanging (Isaiah 40:8, 2 Timothy 3:16-17). When fear rises, finances feel impossible, or health struggles weigh us down, we can boldly declare, “It is written.”
God’s Word is our anchor, weapon, and source of peace. My prayer is that we all anchor our hearts in Scripture, allowing it to shape our thoughts, guide our actions, and strengthen our faith in every season.
